Objective

The main objective of this proposal is to develop an oil separator solution. In accordance to the DOE regulation, ENVIRONEMNTAL QUALITY (INDUSTRIAL EFLUENT) REGULATIONS 2009, all water discharge from the site will need to comply to Standard B which require a discharge parameter of not more than 10 ppm

Goals

To design a system that is reliable at removal of oil and grease.  Siemex coalescer packs consists of a set of parallel corrugated plates. The separation process is enhanced by reducing the droplet settling distance.

Solution

The aim is to comply with DOE requirement and hence the following applies and all oily water from continuous oil contaminated water should be collected via scupper drain or piped drainage to a central sump before entering the oil separator. It is pertinent that rainwater should be separated from oily water drainage to avoid cross contamination

Recommended Maintainance

  • Periodical maintenance and clearing of waste oil: Every 3 month
  • Complete pump out: Yearly
  • Disposal of collected waste oil to be done by licenced waste oil disposal contractor
